Arsenal were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City at the Emirates in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola s men benefitting from a lightning-quick start to extend their lead at the top of the table to 10 points.
Mikel Arteta s side looked tired and leggy in the opening exchanges and they were simply overrun. Raheem Sterling missed one chance and then scored with his second, after just 90 seconds, beating Rob Holding in the air for a rare headed goal. Sterling, Riyadh Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne threatened to run riot, Ilkay Gundogan also coming close, until the Gunners started to grow into the game.

Manchester City made it 13 consecutive Premier League victories as Pep Guardiola s team cast aside Arsenal 1-0 thanks to Raheem Sterling s early header.
Hunting an eighth straight win over the Gunners, City made a supreme start which was capped by Sterling s 13th goal of the season for the club in all competitions.
After 30 minutes of dominance, City rather took their foot off the accelerator, though Ederson only had one save to make as City maintained their superb defensive record.
Though they ultimately laboured to victory, City have now won their last 18 games across all competitions, and their march towards the title is showing no sign of slowing.
