Manchester City will not be joining the race to sign Bayern Munich s David Alaba.
The Austrian star will be a free agent this summer with his contract with the European champions set to expire. Die Roten had expressed an interest in extending the 28-year-old s deal at the club, however, with talks reaching a standstill last November they promptly withdrew their offer.

With less than six months remaining on his current deal, Alaba is free to talk to potential future employers, and La Liga giants Real Madrid are understood to be in the driving seat in the race to secure his services.
