Manchester City 4-0 Crystal Palace
Manchester City climbed to second spot in the Premier League after hammering Crystal Palace 4-0 on Sunday evening.
Joao Cancelo dropped to the substitutes’ bench in favour of the returning Kyle Walker, as Fernandinho captained City and Raheem Sterling given a recall.
A spate of shots from the Citizens following a short corner-kick midway in the first half came up with Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus unable to breach the visitors.
However, it was just a matter of time for City who eventually broke the deadlock on 26 minutes when John Stones towered high in the area to head home a delightful ball from De Bruyne.
Manchester City are already title favourites in the eyes of Micah Richards, but the former Blues defender says a new striker signing in January would be “the icing on the cake” for Pep Guardiola.
