HENDERSON â Junior Andres Prince made history for Crossroads Christian by becoming the first player in the history of both menâs and womenâs basketball at the school to be selected to the NCISAA 1A All-State team.
Prince said that his first season at CCS was challenging in numerous ways, both on and off the court, but he felt honored to be recognized by the NCISAA for his on-court achievements and hopes to find more ways to improve ahead of next year.
âI think everything went pretty well overall,â Prince said. âWith all of the quarantines that we had to deal with, I think that kind of threw us off and thatâs why we didnât have as much chemistry that we could have had.â

Burlington, N.C. The Burlington School senior guard Jamarii Thomas announced his commitment to UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday afternoon.
Thomas had to overcome adversity in order to reach this point. He missed the 2018-19 basketball season when attending High Point Christian Academy following a torn ACL and meniscus. The six-foot, 185-pound guard bounced back from those injuries by averaging 15.6 points, 2.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals a night for Piedmont Classical last winter. The Bobcats would finish 25-9 overall.
As a senior, Thomas is enrolled at The Burlington School and was able to play AAU basketball for Team Curry 17U. That is when Division-I interest started rolling in following many standout performances in various events throughout the summer and early fall.
