Updated December 19, 2020 7:58 a.m. EST Fayetteville, N.C. A man was hit and killed by a car Friday night in Fayetteville. James D. McKethan Jr., 42, of Fayetteville was hit at the intersection of N.C. Highway 24 and Plymouth Street shortly before 10 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Ajaleann J. Chico-Romo, 24, of Fayetteville, was driving the 2016 Toyota Corolla that hit him, police said. No charges had been filed as of Saturday morning, but the incident remains under investigation. Inbound N.C. 24 was closed while police investigated.

He died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Police are asking the public for help locating Krystle Bennetti, 34, who may have information about the crime. Bennetti has not been charged in connection with this case. Detectives said around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, several people were at the home when a dark-colored sedan with spoke-style rims stopped in the road in front of the house where the group was hanging out. Multiple shots were fired from the car into the house before the car drove off toward Raintree Drive.
