McCarthy: 1-1 a Fair Reflection From Worst Game

Town boss Mick McCarthy felt the 1-1 scoreline was the right result from the Blues’ visit to Bolton, a match he felt was the worst he’s seen all season, believing his side didn’t really get going until they’d gone a goal down.
“I think 1-1 is a fair reflection,” he said. “I think it was possibly the worst game I’ve seen all season.
“They’re no mugs and they didn’t make it easy for us. They’re a big, strong powerful team and neither of us [played particularly well], although actually we played great football from 1-0 down.

The 20-year-old was making a debut at Bolton for the second time this season having made his Sheffield United bow at the Macron Stadium earlier in the season when he scored his only senior goal up to now.
Carter-Vickers started alongside skipper Luke Chambers at the centre of the defence with Jonas Knudsen moving to left-back and Myles Kenlock dropping to the bench.
A CONTROVERSIAL early red card shown to Jefferson Lerma helped Luton Town produce a shock victory over Cherries at Vitality Stadium. The only goal of the game came midway through the second half through midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s well-placed strike. But Cherries were left aggrieved after having to play more than an hour of the contest with 10 men after Lerma was sent off for accidentally catching the face of Tom Lockyer with his arm whilst challenging for a header. Boss Jason Tindall used all five available subs from his bench in the closing stages to try and forge a way back into the game, but one goal proved to be enough for the Hatters to take the win.
