North Cambs Hospital in Wisbech is on track to complete an £8m modernisation by 2023.
The assurance was given by MP Steve Barclay who has been at the forefront of the campaign to improve services at the hospital.
These will include improved children and adult outpatient services, a new reception and waiting area and a cafeteria.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust is - according to Mr Barclay - pressing ahead with phase four of the scheme.

A large scale Covid-19 vaccination centre has been launched by the NHS at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

The NHS has launched a “large scale” Covid-19 vaccination centre in Cambridgeshire in a bid to accelerate the delivery of the life-saving jab.
Opening today (February 16), the new centre is inside the East of England Showground and is part of one of the biggest NHS programmes in history.
The centre – at the Arena and Events Centre in Peterborough – is an additional option to the centres already across the county, including the Horsefair Shopping Centre in Wisbech.
Patients have complained of lengthy queues and "freezing" temperatures at one of Norfolk's mass vaccination centres.
