He will start July 6./ San Antonio officials named a new permanent director of the Metropolitan Health District on Friday, after two years of leadership shake-ups at the agency. Claude Jacob, 53, is the chief public health officer at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Boston-area health care provider, a position he has held for 14 years. He will take the helm of Metro Health on July 6. His appointment marks the sixth leadership change at the health district since March 2019, when then-director Colleen Bridger was tapped to temporarily serve as assistant city manager, a position that later became permanent.
