Kia president and chief executive Ho Sung Song has said that the Korean carmaker will be “reborn in 2021” with the launch of new mobility solutions and 11 new electric vehicles (EVs).
The brand, which has already redesigned its logo in a 2D style that reflects those recently adopted by Volkswagen, BMW, Toyota and Vauxhall, spelled out its future plans at a virtual investor conference held in Seoul yesterday (February 9).
Ho Sung Song (pictured), said: Kia is being reborn in 2021 with a new logo, new design, and new corporate name. Kia will transform into a brand that excites and inspires customers with innovative mobility experiences.”

Kia Motors UK has issued a recall for its new Sorento SUV after identifying a problem with the vehicle s eCall SOS alert system.
A total of 965 of its seven-seat flagship models, which went on sale in August last year priced from £38,845, are included in the recall, according to a statement issued by the brand.
The affected vehicles were all produced between September 1 and December 14, 2020.
Kiaâs statement said: âIn case of an accident, the Sorentoâs eCall system normally transmits the vehicle identification number (VIN) to the emergency call centre.
âHowever, if an airbag were to be deployed in one of the affected vehicles the VIN would not be transmitted.â

The Shrewsbury-based car retailer added the franchise to a portfolio which already features Kia sister brand Hyundai, Honda and Mitsubishi Motors in the UK at locations in Shrewsbury, Newtown and Telford.
Kia joins the Honda and Mitsubishi franchises at a reconfigured showroom facility on Pool Road, Newtown.
