I was pulled over when I lived in Nebraska for flashing my headlights at an oncoming car that still had its brights on. Unfortunately for me, it was a state trooper and he was not too happy with me. He wrote me a ticket for something like blinding oncoming traffic . I fought the ticket and it was thrown out.
The state of New York is looking to take back a whole bunch of unemployment benefits that they believe were paid out to people that didn t qualify for the money. This isn t a small amount of money, we re talking about $114 million in unemployment benefits. Wow, that a lot more than a rounding error .
The state claims that during the huge spike in unemployment claims, brought on by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, people that didn t qualify for unemployment received money that didn t deserve and now New York wants that money back.
According to the article in the Times Union, people all across the state have been receiving notices from New York Labor Department demanding that they repay unemployment benefits back to the state. Some of these notifications exceed $10,000.

Just about everything in the summer of 2020 was canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Americade in Lake George was one of those events. With COVID-19 still prominent in the Capital Region, organizers have pushed back the event from summer to fall this year. Americade in Lake George is one of the coolest events of the summer. There are thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts who descend upon Lake George for a long weekend of fun and comradery. Last year the event was canceled due to the pandemic and organizers are already pushing the date back because of the continued concern of the virus.
