Psychedelics, Transformative Experiences and Healing: An Interview with Katrina Michelle
Katrina Michelle is a psychologist and the founder and director of The Curious Spirit, a transpersonally oriented psychotherapeutic practice that encourages transcendent personal exploration to remedy psychological suffering. She is a holistic psychotherapist currently serving as faculty at Columbia University School of Social Work and The Institute for the Development of Human Arts.
In addition to her practice, she also serves as the director of harm reduction for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and formerly worked as the executive director of the American Center for the Integration of Spiritually Transformative Experiences (ACISTE). The Government Accountability Office yesterday named five new members to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, which advises Congress on issues affecting Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
The new members are Bob Duncan, executive vice president of Children’s Wisconsin, a Milwaukee-based pediatric health care system; Heidi Allen, an associate professor at Columbia University School of Social Work; Laura Herrera Scott, M.D., vice president of clinical strategy and product for Anthem; Verlon Johnson, senior vice president of corporate strategy for health information technology firm CNSI; and Dennis Heaphy, co-founder of Disability Advocates Advancing Our Healthcare Rights.
