However, this is not the first time that Krishnan has been in news. Two years ago, he was the oldest person in the world to have had stenting to the left side artery of the brain which was done in order to prevent a major stroke.  He has also witnessed the time of the Spanish flu. Krishnan was five years old when the deadly flu hit and spread across the world in 1918. A cardiologist at the hospital where he got his vaccination shot, said that it is a heartwarming moment to see Krishnan get the vaccination safely and to know that he would be continuing to lead a quality of life.

He is arguably the oldest person in India to take the first dose Covid-19 vaccine shot on Monday. Krishan was vaccinated at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute under the supervision of cardiologist Dr Ashok Seth.

Kewal Krishan was part of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly of India. New Dellhi: Kewal Krishan, who was just five years old during the deadly Spanish Flu of 1918, and later became part of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly of India, received his first shot of anti-COVID-19 vaccine in Delhi on Monday, his son said. Mr Krishan, now 107, stepped out of his home in south Delhi for the first time since the coronavirus-induced lockdown was imposed late March in 2020 to get his Covieshield jab, son Anil Krishna said. We had kept him literally in a bubble, and given the nature of the virus, we decided to keep him safe within the confines of home. And, today, we just took him in a car to the hospital, where he had undergone a major operation in 2019, got the vaccine shot, and came back, he said.
