Fort Bend ISD has taken another step toward finding a replacement for Charles Dupre, the districtâs outgoing superintendent.Â
During a special meeting on March 3, the FBISD board of trustees chose Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates as the firm to facilitate its search. The trustees did not cite the cost of enlisting the search firm during the open session of the meeting, and the district did not respond to an inquiry about the cost by press time Tuesday.
Dupre announced last November his intent to resign by December 2021.Â
The district submitted a request for proposals from search firm candidates earlier this year and selected three potential candidates during a Feb. 8 workshop: Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates; J.G. Consulting; and BWP and Associates.Â

On Saturday, the Cactus Jack Foundation was on the ground to help deliver supplies to Houston residents in need. The relief event took place at Willowridge High School in Houston. The drive provided Houstonians with necessities like fresh produce, water and PPE.

HOUSTON – Several Houston-area school districts are responding after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced the lifting of business capacity limits and the state’s mask mandate.
Under the executive order, which went into effect March 10, Abbott added that public schools may operate under the standard health protocols issued by the Texas Education Agency. Private schools and colleges are expected to follow the same standard.
Houston-area school districts have issued statements on how they plan to move forward.
