On Thursday, exactly a year later, Murphy received his COVID-19 vaccination. The IU13, one of 29 intermediate units across the state, is serving as a host site in collaboration with the Pennsylvania National Guard. IU13 expects to receive about 5,400 vaccine doses in the first round of inoculations, which prioritizes teachers and staff — bus drivers, cafeteria staff, janitors and others — serving students in prekindergarten through sixth grade and at-risk student populations. Dover superintendent Tracy Krum reflects on her past four years before May retirement York Dispatch Superintendent Tracy Krum will retire May 1, four years to the day from when she started her tenure with the Dover Area School District.  Her replacement, Kelly Cartwright, started her job Monday as the district s assistant superintendent, giving her two months to learn the job alongside Krum before she takes over. This is a stark contrast to how Krum took on the role in 2017.  Krum began her time at Dover as the assistant superintendent May 1, 2017. But shortly after her first day, the previous superintendent resigned, and the staff asked her to become the interim superintendent. She said she was shell-shocked by the request. 

Upper Leacock plans to reopen Leola pool with YMCA managing

What happened: The township plans to reopen the Leola Community Pool for the 2021 season. It was closed last year due to the COVID-19 emergency. YMCA management agreement: The board unanimously approved an agreement with Lancaster Family YMCA to manage and operate the pool subject to the township solicitor’s review. This will include taking out a clause relating to the operation and maintenance of the snack bar. And it will specify “The Y adhere to all protocols in terms of federal, state and CDC standards on the coronavirus and also the indemnification of the township for the operation of the pool.”
