A great deal of the buildup to Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 3 has revolved around the tactics Poirier utilized to defeat McGregor in their rematch. Ideas such as “wrestling,” “kicking” and “defense” were ridiculed by McGregor, the former two-weight champion has made a point of attempting to shame Poirier for these strategies.

Dustin Poirier has taken it upon himself to put Conor McGregor on full blast ahead of their UFC 264 trilogy fight.
During the build-up to the second McGregor vs. Poirier fight at UFC 257, an observation made by fans and spectators was that McGregor was much friendlier than he has been in fight buildups of the past. He behaved in a similar fashion ahead of his previous bout against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, but fans and media still made note of this meeker, more sportsmanlike side of the charismatic Irishman ahead of UFC 257.

A dispute outside of the octagon might be threatening one of the UFC’s biggest upcoming fights. Conor McGregor has suggested on social media that he no longer plans to face Dustin Poirier in their highly anticipated trilogy bout, which is scheduled for July 10.
The latest dust-up between the lightweights stems from a charity donation that McGregor agreed to make ahead of facing off in the main event of UFC 257. McGregor said he would donate $500,000 to Poirier s charity, The Good Fight Foundation. On Sunday, Poirier said McGregor’s camp stopped responding to his foundation after he knocked out McGregor in their Jan. 24 fight.
