The round was led by Seattle-based Flying Fish, which also led the company’s pre-seed round in May 2020. Section 32, Character, Starshot Capital, and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban also invested. The software: Phaidra analyzes massive amounts of sensor data and creates intelligent AI agents that automatically control and optimize complex industrial facilities. Customers use Phaidra to improve energy efficiency and sustainability; increase plant safety and stability; and maximize yield.

Former presidential advisor Julian Read dies in Austin Read was known as the first to provide a media briefing following President John F. Kennedy s assassination in 1963. Author: KVUE News Staff Updated: 10:50 AM CDT May 10, 2021 AUSTIN, Texas Julian Read, a former campaign adviser to several U.S. presidents, has died in Austin of natural causes. A spokesperson confirmed his passing on May 8 and said a memorial service will be held on May 13 at the Texas State Cemetery. Read, who is known as being the first person to deliver the media briefing after President John F. Kennedy s assassination, also served as an advisor to presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

Provost s Office accepting grant applications for research in humanities, social sciences and the arts

Northwestern Now Deadline is March 29; grant recipients announced for winter 2021 Marco Williams received funds for “Murders that Matter: Impact Campaign.” The Office of the Provost is accepting applications to support scholarly and creative work for faculty in fields with little external or start-up funding through the Provost Grants for Research in Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts.  Eligible expenses include funding for research assistants (including federal work-study students), purchase of research materials or equipment and expenses related to data-collection such as surveys.
