The coronavirus spread rate in the past eight days reached 0.9
NUR-SULTAN, February 2. /TASS/. Kazakhstan’s doctors registered 1,161 new coronavirus cases in the past day, 98 fewer than a day earlier, and the total case tally hit 189,131, the government’s commission for preventing the coronavirus spread reported on Tuesday.

In the past eight days some 1,161-1,469 daily COVID-19 cases were registered. Some 1% of the Central Asian republic’s 18.8 mln population were infected. The coronavirus spread rate in the past eight days reached 0.9. A record high of 1,962 coronavirus cases were confirmed on July 9.
A total of 169,963 people have recovered, with 1,195 recoveries registered in the past 24 hours, according to the commission. The death toll has reached 2,556, climbing by 7 in the past day.
Kazakhstan launches Sputnik V vaccination campaign
At the first stage of the vaccination campaign, health workers, teachers, police officers and people with chronic diseases will get vaccine shots
NUR-SULTAN, February 1. /TASS/. A coronavirus vaccination campaign will kick off in Kazakhstan on Monday. At first, the country will use the Sputnik V vaccine made in Russia and will shift to the domestically produced Sputnik V vaccine in mid-February.
The production of the Sputnik V vaccine began in the Kazakh city of Karaganda in late December. According to the country’s Health Minister Marat Shoranov, two mln doses of the vaccine will be produced in Karaganda by July.

NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM - The first batch of Russia’s Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V) vaccine is to arrive in Kazakhstan in the amount of up to 20 thousand doses in early February 2021. According to Marat Shoranov, First Vice Minister of Health, the relevant agreements with the Russian side are in place on a one-off delivery of the doses, Kazinform correspondent reports. According to the Kazakh Health Ministry, the Russian vaccine Sputnik V obtained State registration in Russia and has been used for the immunization of vulnerable layers of the population in the past several months. Around 50 countries applied for obtaining the vaccine, while in some countries, such as Belarus, Argentina, and Serbia, the vaccine is already in use.
