Sequel to The Railway Children to begin filming in Worth Valley with Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay

FILMING is to begin next week on a sequel to the much-loved children s film The Railway Children, with Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay all set to star. It is just over 50 years since the original film hit the box office and cameras are set to roll once again in the Worth Valley. The Railway Children Return will see key locations from the original film once again on the big screen, with Keighley & Worth Valley Railway having a starring role once more. Inspired by the original 1970s film, other notable locations will include Oakworth Station, Haworth and The Bronte Parsonage.

The actress, 68, was just 16 when she played Bobbie Waterbury in the 1968 BBC series, before going on to star in the 1970 film version at 18-years-old.  Jenny will star in the rebooted version, named The Railway Children Return, alongside Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay, with Sheridan excitedly tweeting about her new role on Thursday.
