It was during mid-May and the peak of Covid-19 pandemic when heart and lung transplant specialist Dr Govini Balasubramani was informed about a very serious patient in his early 30s. The man, a father of an 8-month-old baby from Lucknow, was having severe breathing complications and needed immediate attention. Dr Govini and his team took a commercial flight to Delhi and then to Lucknow to save the patient s life.
