The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Pierre-Luc Dubois to a two-year, $10 million contract extension through the 2021-22 National Hockey League season, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Dubois will earn $3.35 million during the 2020-21 season and $6.65 million in the second year of the deal.
Dubois, 22, has registered 65 goals and 93 assists for 158 points with 162 penalty minutes and a cumulative +22 plus/minus rating in 234 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2017-18. The center, who has not missed a game during his first three seasons, has recorded two 20-goal and 30-assist campaigns during his young NHL
Notes:
- Has collected 21 points (7 G, 14 A) in 13 games this season with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
- Played in 44 games for the Islanders in the 2019-20 season, notching 36 points (6 G, 30 A) to go with 28 penalty minutes
- Won the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Silver Medal with Team Canada in 2019-20
- Was named the NBPEIMMHL Rookie of the Year and recorded the most points by a defenseman in the league in 2017-18
