Share Hyderabad:  Observing the ninth edition of University Distinguished Lecture Series, SRM University, Andhra Pradesh invited Prof Lakshmi Kantam Mannepalli, the Dr B P Godrej Distinguished Professor of Green Chemistry, Department of Chemical Engineering, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai to address a captivating speech on “Design and Development of Homogeneous/Heterogeneous Catalysts for Sustainable Chemical Industry”. Prof D Narayana Rao, Pro Vice-chancellor inaugurated the talk with a welcome speech. Also attended by Prof VS Rao, Vice-Chancellor SRMAP and Dr S Mannathan, Department of Chemistry. Prof D Narayana Rao expressed that “Industrial collaboration is very much necessary in the context of self-reliant India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat)”.

CSIR removes NEERI head Rakesh Kumar as Director Updated: Updated: Move follows CVC order of an inquiry into allegations of corruption against him Share Article Move follows CVC order of an inquiry into allegations of corruption against him The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has divested Rakesh Kumar, Director, National Environment Engineering and Research Institute (NEERI) in Nagpur of his post and transferred him to its headquarters in Delhi. Sources confirmed to The Hindu that this was after the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) ordered an inquiry into allegations of corruption against Mr. Kumar and other employees at the institute. The allegations were levelled by a former employee of NEERI.

CSIR-IICT inks agreement with Bharat Biotech for novel vaccines platforms CSIR-IICT inks agreement with Bharat Biotech for novel vaccines platforms 05 April 2021 | News Image credit- shutterstock.com CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) has inked an agreement with Hydrabad based Bharat Biotech International, Biovet, and Sapigen Biologix for the development of novel platform technologies for bio therapeutics and vaccines to support the indigenous, affordable healthcare solutions for humans and animals. The collaborators will identify the mutually interesting projects to be pursued under the agreement. The industry collaborators shall provide necessary financial support to CSIR-IICT for developing key raw materials required by the collaborators, and also perform in-vitro and in vivo studies for further development of potential vaccine candidates and bio-therapeutics formulations to be designed by the collaborators.
