SAN ANTONIO – A Texas quilter is giving back to the community by auctioning off her Bernie Sanders blanket she made on Ebay, KSAT reported.
After the Vermont senator became viral for his coat, mittens, and his stance during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, Beatrice “Betty” Pacheco picked up her quilting kit and made her idea a reality: a Bernie Sanders quilt to be sold for charity, after hearing the meme was being used to give back to charity.

The Guilford High School graduates who own and operate the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released their Bernie Sanders Inauguration Day bobblehead on Jan. 20, and it has already become the museum’s second top-seller.
The bobblehead features Sanders seated on a folding chair, his legs and arms crossed, with his brown-and-white wool mittens resting on his chest, an image that went viral on social media during the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

The brown-and-white patterned mittens Sen. Bernie Sanders wore on Inauguration Day were instantly iconic so much so that they re going to be produced for the masses.
Ellis, the second-grade teacher from Vermont who gave Sanders the mittens on a campaign stop years ago, has partnered with Vermont Teddy Bear to sell Bernie mittens. An undisclosed portion of the proceeds will benefit Make-A-WIsh Vermont, which shares an office space with the Shelburne teddy bear business.

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) The image of Sen. Bernie Sanders sitting cross-legged while wearing mittens at the presidential inauguration has gone from a viral internet meme to a crocheted doll.
After the photo of the Vermont Senator went viral last week, Sanders campaign quickly put the image on t-shirts and hats, sold it online, and donated the $2 million in funds to Meals on Wheels Vermont, according to the New York Times.
Knitters also jumped on the viral meme, creating a pattern for other avid-knitters to try and make their own pair of Sen. Sanders iconic mittens.
Now, Massachusetts locals and lifelong friends Donielle Broderick and Alex Borges are joining in the fun by crocheting and selling mini Bernie Sanders dolls.

A photo of the US senator went viral after Bernie Sanders sported a parka, hand-knit mittens, and a surgical blue mask, and people edited him into everything from iconic locations to scenes from popular movies.
Sanders then turned the meme into a crewneck sweatshirt to raise money for charity, and it sold out, but the meme inspired something else too… Tobey King designed the ‘Bernie’s Mittens Crochet Doll’, which quickly captured the attention of many, and she announced that the original doll would be sold to raise money for the same charity.
