The government will decide to bring back some gendarmes from guarding some objectives to their training system, as well as to transfer the local police back to the town/city halls, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode, told public television broadcaster TVR1 on Tuesday evening, according to AGERPRES. Tomorrow will come with two proposals in the CNSU [the National Committee for Emergency Situations] decision. This decision will be transposed by a government decision, namely an emergency ordinance. The first concerns the return of the gendarmes to guarding objectives. We had over 700 gendarmes posted from various public order units transferred into the public order system, and security was provided by employees of the National Defence Ministry. They have to return to the mandatory training system through their internal regulations and tomorrow we will make this decision, said Lucian Bode.

The 2021 draft budget will reflect the financing needs of the local authorities and will have as an underlying principle the efficient, top-performing and transparent spending of public money, Prime Minister Florin Citu stressed on Tuesday at a meeting with representatives of the Association of Romanian Municipalities (AMR), the government said in a Facebook post.
The AMR representatives said they will support the reform projects initiated by the government with a view to improving the organization of the state and rendering it more efficient. The representatives of the local public administration will participate in the commissions that decide on the granting of social assistance benefits and will be constantly consulted on the documents regarding the allocation of European funds, the government mentions.

The Association of Romanian Cities (AOR) is calling on the government to comply with the 10-working day term required for consulting associative structures on the draft Government Emergency Ordinance on a set of fiscal-budgetary measures, which has reached the Executive s desk for approval. The one-day interval between the notification of the Draft OUG on a set of fiscal-budgetary measures, the amendment and supplementation of certain regulatory acts and the extension of certain deadlines to the Association of Romanian Cities makes it impossible to consult the association members, analyze the proposed measures and assess their consequences, which by successive acts keep in place the extension of certain deadlines and revenue capping at the levels of 2018. Therefore, we can only ask the government to comply with the provisions of Article 86, paragraphs (2) and (3) of Emergency Ordinance No. 57/2019 regarding the Administrative Code, as well
