The Bombay High Court today (Tuesday) will hear the bail petitions of activists Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk, who were named as suspects by Delhi Police in a case regarding the toolkit shared by climate activist Greta Thunberg. The petitions seeking transit anticipatory bail have been filed by advocate Nikita and environmental activist Shantanu, both Maharashtra residents.
MUMBAI: Bombay high court on Tuesday heard at length Mumbai advocate Nikita Jacob s plea for transit anticipatory bail of four weeks in connection with the alleged farmers protest ‘Toolkit’ case. 22-year-old Disha Ravi has been arrested from Bengaluru in the same case.
“Nikita Jacob is not named in the FIR. The Toolkit was prepared by many. It doesn’t talk of violence nor of taking over Red Fort or anything,” argued her counsel Mihir Desai.
Justice P D Naik who heard her plea reserved it for orders till Wednesday after Delhi police raised preliminary objections to granting her relief.
Counsel for Delhi cyber police, Venegaonkar when asked by HC said police would be prudent and unlikely to take any step now since order is to be pronounced on Wednesday. He added that in any case, women are not arrested after sunset.
