The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch a communication satellite on Thursday, 17 December at 3.41 pm IST from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. The communication satellite CMS-01 will be onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C50). While the launch date was initially scheduled for 7 December, it was pushed back to 8 December and again to 14 December due to bad weather and the possibility of hurricanes,

ISRO launches PSLV-C50 from Sriharikota, vehicle lifts off successfully
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday launched communication satellite CMS-O1 onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C50) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. Dr. K Sivan, chairman of the space agency, said that the PSLV-C50 successfully injected CMS-01 communication satellite precisely in predefined orbit. Satellite is functioning very well & will be placed in a specified slot in another 4 days. Teams worked very well & safely under COVID19 -pandemic situation, he said.
CMS-01 is a communication satellite envisaged for providing services in Extended-C Band of the frequency spectrum. The Extended-C Band coverage will include Indian mainland, Andaman-Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands. CMS-01 is the 42nd Communication Satellite of India.Â

Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) [India], December 17 (ANI): The Indian Space Research Organisation s (ISRO) PSLV-C50 on Thursday successfully launched India s 42nd communication satelliteCMS-01 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
The PSLV-C50 lifted off from the Second Launch Pad at 3:41 pm and CMS-01 was injected into its intended orbit after a flight of about 20 minutes and 12 seconds, after which, solar panels of CMS-01 were automatically deployed and ISRO s Master Control Facility at Hassan assumed control of the satellite.
PSLV-C50 lifted off from the Second Launch Pad of SDSC SHAR at 3:41 pm carrying CMS-01. After a flight of about 20 minutes 12 seconds, the vehicle injected the satellite into its intended orbit.
