For implementing the Metro Line 2A (Dahisar to D N Nagar) and Line 7 (Dahisar East to Andheri East) so far the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority(MMRDA) has incurred expenses of total Rs 5935 crore. On Line 2A Rs 3,525 crore spent and on Line 7 Rs 2410 crore spent. The MMRDA has ensured to complete the both the metro lines work within the government sanctioned project cost despite delays due to Covid-19.
On Monday MMRDA started the trial run on 20kms stretch on Metro 2A and 7. It will cover 18 stations on both the lines. MMRDA Commissioner R A Rajeev, said, The testing of line on the said stretch will continue for next four months. Meanwhile, it will also receive 2 rakes each month and with availability of total 10 rakes the commercial operations of Phase 1 between Dhanukarwadi (formerly known as Kamraj Nagar) and Aarey will commence from October 2020. Mumbai: Western Express Highway to have underpass for traffic-free drive to airport
Bhoomipujan to be performed on May 31 along with starting of 20km stretch trial run on Metro Lines 2A and 7
To facilitate traffic-free driving experience to travellers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (Terminal 2) and Domestic (Terminal 1) Airports, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has proposed vehicular underpasses and widening of the existing Juhu-Vile Parle flyover.
Once ready, the motorists can drive at 40km/hr in these underpasses reducing the existing travel time.
Since a contractor for the project has been selected, a ground breaking ceremony on May 31 along with starting the proposed 20km trial run on Metro Line 2A(Dahisar to DN Nagar) and 7 (Dahidar East to Andheri East) has been planned.

A day after an air ambulance made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport, a video of the Beechcraft VT-JIL aircraft carrying out a belly landing has emerged on social media.
In the video, which is over two minutes long, the Jet Serve Ambulance that was carrying two crew members, a patient and their relative, and a doctor is seen landing at 9:09 pm.
A screeching sound followed by sparks (due to friction as the airplane brushes the tarmac at high speed) can be seen before it comes to a grinding halt.
