University of Oregon loosens mask, travel guidelines for summer term

The University of Oregon announced loosened restrictions regarding face coverings for summer and other guidelines around travel and physical distancing, as more of the state reopens and returns to functioning in pre-pandemic ways. However, the state s loosened restrictions also come as the highly contagious COVID-19 virus delta variant makes its way to Oregon. As of Monday, face coverings are no longer required indoors for those individuals who are fully vaccinated, according to an update sent to the UO community on Monday. People who are not fully vaccinated are still required to wear face coverings indoors except when alone in a room or in an area specifically designated for eating in groups, it stated.
