In their first press briefing since the deadly fascist mob attack on the Capitol on January 6, FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials on Tuesday said they are investigating an âunprecedentedâ number of criminal cases related to last Wednesdayâs breach.
The FBIâs Washington Bureau field office assistant director, Steve DâAntuono, said at a news conference that his office has opened 170 case files, and that agents have received over 100,000 âpieces of digital mediaâ and are âscouring every one for investigative and digital leads.â
