The COVID-19 vaccines in use in the United States have been shown to be safe and effective, said the statement s lead author, David Weber, MD, MPH, an infection prevention specialist at the University of North Carolina s School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, and a board member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
