Local Artists Invited to Display Works at White Mountain Library

SWEETWATER COUNTY The Sweetwater County Library System Exhibits Committee invites local artists to display their original artwork. This exhibit will be open May 17 through June 30 at the White Mountain Library in Rock Springs. The deadline to submit art pieces is May 14 at 5 p.m., and the two-page entry form is now available at the library circulation desks and the Community Fine Arts Center as well as on the CFAC website. Paintings, drawings and other 2D artwork will be accepted for this exhibit and artists are limited to two works each. Photographs are not included in this show but later in the year, photographers can enter the annual Photography Open to be held in December and January at the White Mountain Library.

Calling Artists for Kickin it Mural Project

ROCK SPRINGS The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency and Community Fine Arts Center are accepting artist submissions for the new “Kickin’ It” mural project in Downtown Rock Springs. The 8-foot high boot cut-outs will be made available to selected artists. Once painted, the boots will be located on various buildings throughout Downtown Rock Springs. The boots are raw so they will need to be primed well. The artist can determine which way they would like their boot to face. Since the boots will be displayed outdoors, they must be sealed properly. Boots will reflect Wyoming and Rock Springs in their theme but the overall concept is ultimately up to the artists’ interpretation.
