CHICAGO (WLS) A shooting on I-57 on Chicago s South Side has left one man dead and two others seriously injured Friday morning, Illinois State Police said. The shooting occurred just after 12:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes near 119th Street. The lanes were blocked between 119th and 111th streets while investigators canvassed the scene for shell casings. Lanes reopened at around 6:20 a.m. Two vehicles, a white Dodge Durango and an orange Chevy Camaro, riddled with bullet holes showed up outside the Chicago Police Department s 22nd District Station after the shooting Two men transported to Advocate Christ Hospital and a third to the University of Chicago Medical Center, all in serious condition. One of the victims transported to Advocate Christ Hospital later died.

The shooting happened on I-57 in the northbound lane near 119th Street near Calumet Park around 12:45 a.m., Trooper Elizabeth Clausing said in a statement. The shooting involved two vehicles. Three men were hit by bullets in one of the vehicles were taken to a hospital. A man, age unknown, later died from his injuries. A woman in one of the cars was not injured.

Both incidents happened Thursday night, the first of which occurred in the suburb north of Chicago at about 8 p.m. The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reported that, according to police, a woman was killed instantly when she was struck by the train. The Lake County coroner s office on Friday identified the victim as Claire Osborn, 73, of Lake Forest. A half hour after Osborn was struck, a 71-year-old man was on the platform of the “L” station in the Rogers Park neighborhood on Chicago s North Side when according to police, he stumbled, fell against an advertising sign and then fell to a spot on the ground in which part of his body extended over the tracks.
