COLUMBIA, S.C. Because additional COVID-19 vaccination sites have opened in the community, and there has been reduced demand from the public, Prisma Health is making changes to its vaccination sites.
According to the healthcare system, they have administered nearly 400,000 vaccines.
Vaccinations have been made available at certain physician offices within Prisma, based on pharmacists and clinical staff. Prisma Health is hoping to expand into more physicians offices soon.
Rick Scott, chair of Prisma Health vaccine task force, said, “We are very proud to have begun the vaccination efforts on the first day vaccine was available and have vaccinated more South Carolinians than any other organization. We continue our commitment to getting shots in arms through our vaccination sites, mobile units and now our primary care offices.

Many SC state employees returning to the workplace Monday

COLUMBIA, S.C. Governor Henry McMaster recently announced he wants all state employees that are working remotely to return to the office as soon as possible, and for thousands of those workers, that means this coming Monday.
All state agencies are required to have employees back full time by Monday, March 15, unless they’ve requested for more time to transition. Employees can also request to stay remote for child care or health reasons.

SUMTER, S.C. Prisma Health in Sumter is changing it s vaccine location from Tuomey Hospital to the Sumter Civic Center.
Starting Monday, Prisma will be utilizing the Sumter Civic Center to expand their community vaccine outreach.
Friday, they vaccinated six patients in an effort to run through the process and make sure they were prepared to open their doors.
“So today we had our dress rehearsal, says Rita Halverson with Prisma, We are officially opening up at the Sumter Civic Center starting Monday, March 15. With our dress rehearsal we went ahead and brought in 6 patients and we went through the process itself.”
