SCHENECTADY – A Schenectady man has been charged after he led police on a car chase Thursday from Clifton Park to Schenectady and rammed his car into a police vehicle, all after robbing someone in the Halfmoon Walmart parking lot, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and state police reported Friday.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Travis Maderic, 31, faces one count of second-degree robbery, a felony, in the Halfmoon incident and second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and second-degree reckless endangerment and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, misdemeanors, related to the chase.

WILTON - The Saratoga County Sheriff s Office confirmed to the Times Union that at least one parent was home during a Dec. 18 underage drinking party that caused an outbreak of COVID-19 in neighboring Warren County and led to the shut down of Glens Falls city schools.
At this point, Warren County officials said that 18 people were infected after a party was held at the home of Joseph and April McClements, teachers at Ballston Spa Central School District and Glens Falls City School District, respectively. Superintendent of Ballston Spa schools, Ken Slentz, has said the parents denied knowing of the party.

BALLSTON SPA Saratoga County s police reform committee is inviting the public to participate in its next meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7.
Scheduled to take place over Zoom, the meeting of the Saratoga County Executive Order 203 Compliance Group is designed to comply with Gov. Andrew Cuomo s order to end bias in police policies and practices.
Recommendations made by the committee will be directed at the Saratoga County Sheriff s Office and must be adopted by the county Board of Supervisors by April 1.
