Shaari’s WWII-era novel is part of 49 books in total on the recently announced longlist, which have been nominated by libraries around the world for the award, sponsored by Dublin City Council.
The €100,000 (RM490,000) prize for the Dublin Literary Award, founded in 1994, is one of the world s most valuable annual literary prizes for a single work of fiction published in English. The award is managed by Dublin City Libraries, and is designed to promote excellence in world literature.
