Erectile Dysfunction Risk 6 Times Higher in Men With COVID

Erectile Dysfunction Risk 6 Times Higher in Men With COVID By Becky McCall April 7, 2021 COVID-19 increases the risk of developing erectile dysfunction (ED) by nearly six times, according to data from the first study to investigate the association between ED and COVID-19 in young men in a real-life setting. The preliminary numbers also indicated that having ED also increased men’s susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Men with ED are more than five times more likely to have COVID-19. For men with a history of COVID-19, the estimated risk of developing ED was 5.66 higher. Those numbers remained even after other factors considered.

Erectile dysfunction? Your eye drop might be responsible!

Punch Newspapers Sections Lara Adejoro Vice-President, Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria and Consultant Ophthalmologist at The Eye Doctors Clinic, Dr. Abiola Oyeleye, says some glaucoma eye drops can ‘minimally increase’ the incidence of sexual dysfunction and impotence. He, however, added that the benefits of the eye drops far outweigh the consideration of not using them. Oyeleye spoke in reaction to a study published by the National Centre for Biotechnology Information on the correlation in severity between glaucoma and erectile dysfunction. The study states that there is a positive association between the presence of erectile dysfunction and diagnosis of glaucoma. The research was led by Geoffrey Law of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, Canada.
