Eagles NFL Draft Preview: Edge Rushers
The Eagles will likely try to bolster their pass rush in the first two days of the draft

PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles value edge rushers more than most positions on the roster and there is an obvious need as the draft approaches with Brandon Graham turning 33 earlier this month, Derek Barnett and Josh Sweat both entering contract years, and Vinny Curry returning to his native North Jersey with the New York Jets.
Typically that would mean edge rusher would be in play at No. 12 overall and perhaps even the clubhouse leader for an organization that has taken either a quarterback, offensive lineman, or defensive lineman every time it has been in the top half of the first round over the past two decades.

International Player Pathway program pays off a second time for Washington
David Bada and Sammis Reyes both offer potential depth to the Washington roster

Last year, the Washington Football Team entered new territory by signing a player under the International Player Pathway program. That player’s name was David Bada, a defensive lineman from Germany who spent the 2020 season on the Washington Practice Squad. This off-season, Bada was re-signed to provide depth for the team. Washington signs Sammis Reyes, TE prospect
Washington today announced it had signed developmental tight end prospect, Sammis Reyes, to a contract in advance of the NFL draft. Reyes worked out at the Florida Gators’ Pro Day a couple of weeks ago and made an impression with his ridiculous athleticism. Originally from Chile, Reyes came to the US to try to make it in the NBA, and ended up playing basketball at Tulane. Though his pro basketball dreams didn’t come true, his near ideal build and athleticism appeared to be a good fit for the NFL. Reyes was on the path to being placed as one of the player in the NFL’s International Pathway Program, and it appears Washington snatched him before he could be assigned elsewhere.

Fast receivers, a loaded crop of quarterbacks, pass rushers who can fly off the ball the 2021 NFL Draft class has everything. And with the New England Patriots holding their best draft pick in a decade, this year’s top pick could wind up having a huge impact.
It’s with this in mind that I must slam on the breaks to make sure that everyone is wearing their seatbelts. Sure, it’s entirely possible that Bill Belichick loads up a bunch of future draft picks to trade up for a quarterback. Heck, there are mock drafts that have star receivers falling right into New England’s laps at No. 15.
