Jallikattu. XYZ Films has also come on board in an executive producer capacity and will be joining the team for its Oscar campaign.
Filmmaker Guneet Monga has also come on board as the executive producer of the film. Last year,
Period. End of Sentence, the 2018 short film on menstruation co-produced by Monga won the Oscar in the Documentary Short Subject category.
Jallikattu follows the catastrophic events that unfold when a butcher s buffalo escapes from the slaughterhouse and runs around in a remote village in Kerala creating havoc. The village men gather to catch hold of the buffalo. The film features actors Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran. Indian Malayali action film Jallikattu and India’s entry to Oscar 2021 will be soon screened in North America. Film production and distribution company XYZ Films as gained the North American rights to Jallikattu.
Lijo Jose Pellissery has directed the film. The movie is based on the cataclysmic situations that develop when a butcher’s wild ox escapes and runs out of control through a far off town in Kerala’s hills.
The movie debuted at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival, where critics applauded it, and Pellissery got the Best Director prize at the 50th International Film Festival of India. Jallikattu is now accessible to watch on Amazon Prime and will make its way to other platforms in mid-2021.

As preparations are afoot in Goa to hold the delayed 51st edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) between January 14 and 24, the choice of dates by the Information and Broadcast Ministry (I&B) has left the organisations of Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) in a quandary.
Since its third edition that was held in 2005, the week-long feast of international cinema in Pune is held in mid-January (the first two editions were held in December). Organisers of PIFF had earlier publicised January 14-21 as probable dates for the 19th edition of the festival.
Covid vaccine to be available in India soon , says Javadekar

New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS): Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Monday that the Coronavirus crisis is now on its way out and soon vaccines would be available in India too. He was speaking at the International Coronavirus Short Film Festival.
He took the opportunity to caution people against letting the guard down before antibodies are created and second dose of the vaccine administered.
Javadekar said that the pandemic has caused major upsets in countries across the globe. However, he noted, that India has been able to handle the crisis well under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who, he said, recognised the crisis early.
