Mayor Peckford Thankful For Funding From Province s Safe Restart Agreement

SHARE ON: Photo: Supplied. The Mayor of North Grenville is praising the province following yesterday’s announcement that the community would be receiving nearly a million dollars. On Wednesday, the Ontario government announced $695 million for financial relief to municipalities as part of the Safe Restart Agreement, with $987,000 going to North Grenville. Following the announcement Mayor Nancy Peckford shared her excitement, tipping her hat to MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes Steve Clark – who was vital in ensuring the municipality was taken care of. “The municipalities have been among the hardest hit and it’s just crucial that communities like ours are able to do what it can to continue to invest in people and infrastructure as we get through this COVID-period,” Peckford said.
