More than 1.3 million people have received the coronavirus vaccine in Saudi Arabia since the Kingdom launched its vaccine campaign in December.
“The number of people who received the COVID-19 vaccine in the Kingdom reached 1,332,740,” Dr. Mohamed Al-Abdulaali, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, announced Sunday.
“There are 405 vaccination centers set up by MOH in various regions of the Kingdom,” the spokesperson said.
Al-Abdulaali noted that 357 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 379,831, including 2,689 active cases receiving necessary medical care.

The ministry said municipal officials will continue to monitor and carry out inspections to ensure all establishments adhere to health and safety protocols.
The Saudi Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing recorded 1,226 breaches of protocol and shut down 366 establishments over the past month.
On Thursday, Jeddah Health Affairs inaugurated a vaccination programme for home healthcare patients in Jeddah. The programme will cater to adults who require home healthcare and adults who share a residence with these patients.
The kingdom recorded 384 new coronavirus cases and five deaths on Friday, bringing the total to 379,092 cases and 6,519 deaths, with 369,922 recoveries to date.
RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing has closed 366 establishments in the Kingdom that violated precautionary health measures to limit the spread of coronavirus. The ministry said that field teams in various regions and governorates of the Kingdom carried out 24,066 inspection tours of shops, food establishments and public utility markets.
