DHA receives full institutional accreditation from SCFHS DUBAI, 2 hours, 16 minutes ago The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has been awarded a full institutional accreditation by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), said a top health official.   Dr Wadeia Muhammad Sharif, Director of Medical Education and Research Department (MERD) at the DHA said the accreditation, which is valid for four years, was awarded after the SCFHS institutional committee completed a thorough evaluation of all the DHA’s Medical Education facilities and services. The commission also inspected all four DHA hospitals- Rashid, Dubai, Latifa and Hatta and 12 primary healthcare centres.     SCFHS is responsible for supervising and evaluating training programmes, as well as setting controls and standards for the practice of health professions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Accredits 886 Training Centers, 1,832 Training Programs in 2020 Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) has announced that the number of training centers that were institutionally accredited in 2020 totaled some 103 training centers that included 783 training headquarters, while the number of accredited training programs reached 1,832. The Executive Administration of Accreditation at the Commission said that the number of accredited training seats in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain in 2020 exceeded 20,000, where the administration’s efforts resulted in accrediting 20,081 training seats in Saudi Arabia, 202 training seats in the UAE and 392 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a growth rate of 7 percent.

Who s Who: Dr Rafah Al-Yousef, vice president at First Health Cluster in Riyadh

  Dr. Rafah Al-Yousef has been a practicing pediatric consultant since 2005, having attained her board certification in pediatric medicine from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in 2002. Al-Yousef graduated from King Saud University, Riyadh, with a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery in July 1995, and completed her master’s degree in management in August 2018 from McGill University, Canada. She has been the vice president for organization development at First Health Cluster in Riyadh since October 2018. In January, her position as vice president was extended for another year. Al-Yousef has been working at King Saud Medical City as a pediatric consultant since 2008, and was head of the general pediatric department from June 2017 till October 2018, and was leader of the Well Baby Clinic pathway from 2017 to October 2018.
