The same day, Saskatchewan Health Minister Paul Merriman said the government was consulting with chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab on a similar move.
“It’s not imminent that this has to be done immediately, but it’s something we could look at,” Merriman said, adding it was one of the reasons why Saskatchewan has no plans to hand off the hundreds of thousands of vaccines in its inventory.
