Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Assault, Hate Crime

A Santa Clara woman was arrested Friday night in Palo Alto on suspicion of assaulting a man in an alleged hate crime, police said.
Officers responded to a report made at about 7:55 p.m. of a battery in progress in the 300 block of California Avenue.
Upon their arrival, the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Sarah Ann Neal, had fled on foot.
An investigation revealed that the victim, a man in his 50s of Middle Eastern descent, had been talking on his cellphone on the sidewalk when Neal approached him asking for money.

GILROY, CA Two suspects tied to a string of burglaries including one in Gilroy were arrested Friday after leading authorities on a pursuit that started in southern Santa Clara County and ended in Oakland, Morgan Hill police said.
At around 7 p.m. officers were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress at Ulta Beauty located at 1015 Cochrane Rd. in Morgan Hill, police said.
Officers learned two female suspects were filling large bags of expensive perfume and fragrances according to police.

These same two suspects were involved in a similar incident reported at the Gilroy Ultra Beauty store at 950 Renz Lane, earlier in the day in which approximately $6,000 in merchandise was stolen, police said.
