Boy killed while crossing Camden Avenue in San Jose is 27th traffic fatality this year

The accident happened about 5:10 p.m. Friday. Police say the driver is cooperating with investigators.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Police say the death of a boy crossing busy Camden Avenue in San Jose against the light near Kooser Road just after 5 p.m. on Friday was the city s 27th traffic fatality in 2021.
The boy, who was in the crosswalk when he was hit by a car heading south, was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly afterward.
The sports utility vehicle that hit him had a green light, police said, and neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected to be a factor in the collision.
Eric Zarate, 43, and Michael Herrera, 34, were arrested for the shooting reported at 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the area of North San Pedro and West Hedding streets.
