A Hyundai Sonata’s engine had caught fire, according to CHP officials. The No. 3 and No. 4 lanes of the northbound freeway were temporarily blocked as a result of the fire. Just after 2 p.m. Monday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision with persons possibly trapped on the northbound 14 Freeway near Soledad Canyon Road, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “There were reports of a utility truck colliding into a center divider,” Lopez said. Three occupants were able to exit the vehicle, and no persons were transported to the hospital according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). As a result of the 14 Freeway crash, the HOV and No.1 lanes were temporarily blocked, according to CHP logs.
