Republicans Of Santa Clarita To Host Fourth Of July Parade Accompanied By Local Leaders
The SCV GOP: The Republicans of Santa Clarita, are set to host a Fourth of July parade Sunday, weaving its way through City neighborhoods accompanied by local representatives.
On Sunday, the parade is expected to start at 1 p.m. from the parking lot of Furniture Now, the old K-Mart location on Valencia Boulevard, according to event organizers.
After hearing that the City of Santa Clarita’s main Fourth of July Parade was going to be canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Republicans of Santa Clarita are doing what they can to still bring patriotism to the Santa Clarita Valley, said Mark Hershey, a member of the group and a 50-year resident and retired Sheriff’s Deputy of Santa Clarita.
In June, SCV Water’s Board of Directors adopted two important plans that address the agency’s short-and long-term water planning objectives. These actions help ensure that sufficient water supplies are available to meet existing and future water needs, and that steps are in place should a critical water shortage occur. These are the first unified water supply and water shortage planning policies since three local water purveyors merged to form SCV Water in January 2018.
On June 9, the Board adopted the Water Shortage Contingency Plan and one week later, on June 16, it adopted the 2020 Urban Water Management Plan and an addendum to the 2015 Urban Water Management Plan. It also adopted the Water Conservation and Water Shortage Ordinance.
