Gradual cooling trend this week A gradual cooling trend is expected for all areas through the weekend as stratus and fog coverage increases during the overnight hours. Gusty northwest winds will continue through the week with the strongest winds focused over southern Santa Barbara County. Wind Advisory for Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains from 6PM Monday through 3AM Tuesday. It will also be windy Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. A ridge is bringing lots of sunshine and warm temperatures to our area. Tuesday will not be quite as warm but highs will still be well above average in the 70s at the coast and mostly 80s inland.

Windy conditions continue through Friday Gusty west to north winds will continue through Friday, strongest over Santa Barbara County. Another low pressure system moves into the area and lingers through Saturday bringing cooler temperatures. A warming trend is expected Monday and Tuesday. Wind is the big weather story over the next couple days. Strong northerly flow will bring gusty sundowner winds. The strong winds are continuing until Friday. A Wind Advisory is in place for the Central Coast until 9PM Thursday, for the Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains until 6AM Friday. The winds will start to pick up in Ventura County on Friday.

Mother’s Day weekend forecast Gusty winds are expected tonight through Sunday for the Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains. A wind advisory is in place through 3AM Saturday. Marine layer clouds and fog will affect most coastal areas and adjacent valleys during the night and morning hours through next Friday. Afternoon temperatures will be near normal through early next week then will warm through mid week. This weekend expect highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s along the coast, and 80s inland. Low clouds persisted along portions of the coast South of Point Conception until late Friday afternoon, this kept temperatures mild in the mid 60s to low 70s for both the coast and valleys.

Peak of warm weather Thursday Wind advisory Wednesday night for Santa Barbara South Coast and mountains until 6AM Thursday.  It was warm out there today upper 70s to 80s in most locations, it will be warmer tomorrow.  A significant warming trend will develop through Friday as ridging aloft builds in from the west over the region. Summer-like temperatures will be prevalent across most areas away from the coast Thursday and Friday. Broad weak troughing aloft will bring cooler conditions over the weekend and into early next week. Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with widespread 80s to low 90s. Overall, most areas can expect temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above seasonal normals Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, the return of onshore flow and the upper level trough will bring a dramatic cooling trend, about 6 to 12 degrees than Friday.
