Like many churches, St Paul’s Covent Garden is broadcasting their services on Zoom. The church is therefore decked out for the festive period, though I have no idea how much of the seasonal backdrops that can be seen during the show were brought in especially for this recording. The video quality here is on a par with other material on the Stream Theatre platform, and the finished product is a briskly-paced over-before-you-know-it affair, with Simon Callow CBE and Dame Maureen Lipman providing some spoken word in amongst all the songs. Donncha O Callaghan is bringing a Christmas extravaganza to RTÉ this evening.
Donnacha O Callaghan has said viewers will be in for some heart-warming moments and brilliant craic on the celebrity Two Talented Christmas Special on Saturday evening.
Two Talented is the show that sees the children mentor the adults as they prepare to perform a duet together on the big stage.
For the Christmas special, which airs this evening at 6.35pm on RTÉ One,
Dancing with the Stars judge Brian Redmond, Fair City actor Maclean Burke, Irish Times journalist Róisín Ingle, and Country and Western singer Cliona Hagan will be braving the stage and belting out your Christmas favourites with their youngsters.

Amy Hanaialiâi is celebrating the 2020 holiday season with a new song, âChristmas Brings Hope.â Hanaialiâi and other Maui artists are hoping to lift peopleâs spirits during the pandemic.
With Christmas approaching during this challenging time, three Maui artists felt inspired to spread a little holiday cheer, releasing either new compositions or updated classics.
Recording the Hoku Award-winning “A Hawaiian Christmas” collection back in 2007, Amy Hanaiali’i decided to celebrate the 2020 season with a wonderful, uplifting new song, “Christmas Brings Hope.”
“With the pandemic going on and everyone fearful and so many cases on the Mainland, I wanted to write something that was hopeful, that we’re going to get through this,” Hanaiali’i said. “Sometimes I feel the news sensationalizes things and puts people in fear, so I wanted to give a little bit of hope.”

Jolly old St. Nick began a special five-night Santa Claus Is Coming To Town parade on Friday evening in Redcliff and Crescent Heights – a festive tour of local neighbourhoods with the goal of spreading Holiday cheer and drumming up donations for the Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund.
“I think we’re excited to bring some light during these trying times for our community,” said Santa Claus Fund executive director Deanna Doerksen. “We’ve had a record number of families that we’ve served this year – and a record number for four years in a row, so we are definitely seeing an increase. When it’s all said and done we’re expecting the increase to be 30 per cent over last year. We’re just seeing lots of new families that are needing a hand up this season.”
