Construction will begin this summer on North Dakota State University’s new indoor practice facility. The North Dakota Higher Ed Board authorized the project on Thursday.
The entire cost of the estimated $37.2 million building is being privately funded – including a lead gift from Nodak Insurance Company which has been awarded naming rights. Groundbreaking is expected in July for the Nodak Insurance Company Football Performance Complex.
The facility will have two artificial turf fields – one indoors and one outdoors – on the site of the current practice fields south of the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. The indoor field will be a full 120 yards long and 60 yards wide with a roof clearance of 72 feet at the peak.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – West Fargo used an 11-0 between the end of the first half and into the second half, plus a stifling defense in the second half to pull out a 67-43 win over Valley City in the Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball tournament loser out game.
The Hi-Liners got off to a good start, leading the home team Packers 10-4 early. The first half saw two ties and five lead changes before the Packers scored the last six points of the half for a 27-23 lead.
The Packers would start the second half on an 8-2 run to open up a ten point lead, 35-25. The Hi-Liners would keep it between that eight and 12 point margin for most of the second half until West Fargo slowly but surely pulled away for the 24 point win.
