Concepcion: Private sector secures 17 M COVID-19 vaccine doses

These 39 LGUs, together with 300 donor companies and vaccine supplier AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals Philippines, Inc., participated in the “A Dose of Hope” ceremonial Signing Wave 2. San Juan Mayor Zamora to get first crack at AstraZeneca vaccines

Published January 14, 2021, 2:47 PM San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora has vowed to be the first to take the AstraZeneca vaccines purchased by the city, in a bid to boost the confidence of residents in the vaccine. “I will be the first to get the vaccine to increase the level of confidence of our constituents in the vaccine and more of them will trust the vaccine,” Zamora said Thursday. “I will really be an ambassador for the vaccination process here in San Juan,” he added. The city conducted a two-day simulation of its vaccination process on January 13 and 14 at the San Juan Gym, in the preparation for its city-wide inoculation of residents against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

San Juan Mayor Zamora bans fireworks display

Published December 23, 2020, 7:05 PM San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora has banned public fireworks display in the city this holiday season amid threats of COVID-19. Zamora told residents they can still celebrate New Year in a safe way at their own homes to avoid the spread of the disease. He said all Metro Manila Mayors were asked to pass an ordinance after a resolution signed by Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez was passed by the Regional Peace and Order Council recommending the banning of the use of firecrackers in the National Capital Region (NCR). Zamora explained that during community fireworks display, people tend to gather in the designated display zone, constituting mass gathering.He said the prohibition of mass gatherings is pursuant to section 4, item 12 of the Omnibus Guidelines on the implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines with Ammendments as of Nov. 19  

San Juan residents told not to let their guard down this Christmas season

Published December 11, 2020, 12:38 PM San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora urged residents not to let their guard down this Christmas season to prevent the possible surge of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the city. “In commemorating the birth of our Savior, let us be mindful of the health and safety protocols that our government is implementing to make sure we minimize transmission, if not totally eliminate COVID-19,” Zamora said.  “We will do our very best to make sure that COVID-19 cases will not shoot up during the holiday season. All health and safety protocols are in place,” he added. The mayor led Thursday (December 10) the lighting of its giant Christmas Tree in Pinaglabanan Shrine and Christmas streetlights along the main roads of the city.
