A former Brunswick resident who was arrested a year ago to face a murder charge in the 1975 killing of a Navy dental technician is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 8 in San Diego Superior Court.
Dennis Lepage, 63, is being held without bail at the San Diego County jail on a charge of first-degree murder, according to the San Diego sheriff’s online inmate records. If convicted under the 1975 statues he would face a sentence of 7 years to life in prison.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision granted an appeal by South Bay United Pentecostal Church in Chula Vista, which challenged the state’s restrictions on church services, including its ban on singing and chanting. The split decision still allows California to cap attendance at indoor worship services at 25 percent of a building’s capacity and to restrict indoor singing and chanting.
